Biography:
Yuan Huang Xie is a highly regarded Chinese modernist painter residing in Philadelphia. Xie began his studies in China where he earned an advanced degree and later taught at the Art College of Hainan University. Seeking to infuse his work with Western traditions, Xie traveled to France to study modernism. His strong command of color translates no matter his subject, Chinese, French, or American.
