Jen Pang was born in China and studied art there as well as in Paris. Pang’s first one-man show was sponsored by the U.S. State Department and from 1958 until 1962, he was a member of the Hong Kong Art Club where he taught and was on the jury. In 1966, he entered the United States, residing in Florida.

An alternate spelling of the artist’s name is Zhen Pong.
