Walter Koeniger

Biography:

Walter Koeniger was born in Germany in 1881 and trained in architecture, but came to America around 1910 and settled in the artists’ community of Woodstock, NY. He began actively pursuing a career in painting and is principally known for his winter snow scenes. He was a member of the prestigious Salmagundi Club and exhibited in New York. According to Richard H. Love Gallery, Koeniger exhibited at the National Academy of Design (1929-1931) as well as in Boston at the Vose Gallery (1926).
